Our experienced Occupational Therapist has worked with children for many years and is able to help with a number of difficulties which are frequently encountered including:
- Sensory processing difficulties, including sensitivities to touch, sounds, sights and smells. These sensitivities may be reduced (hyposensitive) or enhanced (hypersensitive). Too much sensory information can be distressing, whereas too little can leave children without enough information to understand the world around them.
- Coordination difficulties including dyspraxia
- Poor fine motor skills such as grasping, cutting, tying shoelaces, using a knife and fork
- Poor handwriting skills
- Organisational difficulties and skills essential for daily living
An initial assessment will be carried out during which an agreement will be reached regarding further occupational therapy sessions. Intervention involves goal setting with the child, families and schools, ensuring assessment and therapy is focused and relevant.
Cost of an initial Occupational Therapy assessment (90 minutes) is dependent upon the nature of the assessment and includes a full report.
