ADHD medication

After the initial conversation, we’ll need to carry out some checks to make sure ADHD medication is safe and appropriate for you. We’ll email you a list of the information we’ll need, which will include details about your mental and physical health, up-to-date physical health observations, a GP summary, and a heart health survey.

After we’ve completed these checks, we’ll be able to book your first titration appointment if it’s safe to do so. If we are not able to do this, we will advise you on the next steps.

Titration ensures the medication is working effectively to manage ADHD symptoms, such as inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity, whilst monitoring any side effects.

An experienced clinician will discuss your treatment goals, symptoms, and options for treatment including medication with you. They’ll review your existing assessment report and medical history to make sure prescribing would be safe.

You’ll have regular follow-up appointments for a comprehensive review with an expert clinician. They’ll consider how you've responded to the medication and make any necessary adjustments. Your care will be tailored to your individual needs throughout.

This collaboration and monitoring continues throughout your care, whether you are accessing prescriptions privately or via a shared care agreement. If you have questions about this, let us know in our initial conversation.
