Sarah Brown

Sarah Brown has specialised in assessing and supporting people with autism and ADHD and neurodevelopmental conditions since 2018, gaining qualifications in ADOS and the ADI, as well as evidenced based therapeutic interventions such as family therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and dialectical behaviour therapy.

Sarah gained a Masters in Social work from the University of Liverpool, in 1997, and is a registered member of the regulatory body, Social Work England. Since qualifying, she has worked both in acute psychiatry, and in the community for Oxfordshire CAMHS, as a specialist mental health practitioner.

Sarah has a wealth of experience in working with children and young people with complex medical needs and disabilities both in the community in social care services, as well as for The Children’s Society short-term break service in West Oxfordshire.

Sarah also spent three years working in a therapeutic residential home for children and young people in Oxfordshire where she trained in therapeutic family interventions, such as restorative justice, and de-escalation strategies for young people who may have difficulties with emotional regulation.

She has a particular interest in the voice of the child, having spent 3 years working for the Children’s Society Participation Project for young people in London.
